Public information session for Rural Water Supply Feasibility Study
The proposed Southern Wimmera and Northeast Pyrenees Water Supply is a major infrastructure project designed to consolidate water supply across parts of the Central Goldfields, Northern Grampians and Pyrenees Shires.
As the feasibility of this project is tested, landholders and members of the community in the north of the Shire are invited to a public information session to find out more about the proposal and learn how to get involved:
Representatives from GWM Water, Agriculture Victoria and Council will be in attendance.

The way aged care services are provided is changing
The Commonwealth Government's is introducing significant changes to the funding and delivery of aged care services, including those delivered by Council.
We want to be best prepared for these changes by understanding community views on in home and other aged care services.
Community feedback is invited until 5pm TODAY, February 17 February via the following ways:
Surveys can be returned at Council’s Customer Service Centre (address above) or by mail to Manager Community Services, PO BOX 194, Maryborough, 3465.
In-person: Community are invited to an in-person session TODAY Friday 17 February – anytime between 11am to 2pm at the Mill House, 88-90 Burke Street, Maryborough. You can book a free lunch as part of the session on 5461 3185. A private room will be available for people who would prefer to chat one on one.

VEC electoral structure review
The electoral structure of the Central Goldfields Shire is being reviewed - and you can have your say.
This is your chance to provide your views about the electoral structure that would best support representation in our community.
You can make a submission by telling the panel your views in writing or you can draw a map of your preferred electoral structure.
Submissions are open now until 5pm, Wednesday 1 March.

Street tree requests now open
Residents across the Shire can now submit a request to have a street tree planted to increase shade coverage and aid with the beautification of our streetscapes.
To submit a request contact Council’s Customer Service team on 5461 0610.
Requests close 10 March 2023. Trees are limited to one per house block.
Residents will play a key role in watering the trees as they establish their roots.
New footpath for Carisbrook
Our Operations team is currently constructing 120 metres of new footpath along Urquhart Street, Carisbrook between Mclachlan and McNeil streets. The project is being delivered as part of our 2022-2023 Council Budget.
The L2P program assists eligible learner drivers to gain the 120 hours of driving experience they need to get their probationary license.
With a growing number of learner drivers wanting to participate in the program we are calling on more volunteers to help deliver this valuable program for our community.

Expand Your Impact is a FREE online initiative that challenges you to think a little differently and grow your success, in any area of life.
Delivered by Make a Change the program is for anyone who wants to do more, learn more, connect better, or generally be more effective.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the program which will be held every Tuesday from 6 to 7.30pm, for six weeks, from Tuesday 21 February. You can also choose to attend single sessions.
