Industry Open House

We've invited businesses and organisations in the Central Goldfields region to participate in an ‘Industry Open House’ week from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 April.

In recognition of the limited places available for exhibitors at the Maryborough Careers Expo on 20 March, we developed this follow-up opportunity to offer an additional chance for job seekers and community members to connect with local employers and services. 

You are invited to attend as many events as you like:

Opening Our Depot Doors - Wednesday 10 April

9am, Wednesday 10 April

FREE site tour from the Central Goldfields Shire Council's Operations Depot to learn about career pathways and employment opportunities in gardening, road building, maintenance, plant/mechanical maintenance. Including presentations and demonstrations about:

- Parks and Open Spaces

- Road Works and Construction

- Facilities and Maintenance

- Plant Maintenance

- Depot Operations

The first tour will run from 9 - 10am, with additional tours opening based on demand. Bookings essential.

Pop Up Career Advice - Wednesday 10 April

A pop-up careers advice service provided by the Bendigo Kangan TAFE Skills and Jobs Centre!

Drop in for FREE careers advice, including tips on writing resumes and cover letters, and information on qualifications and education pathways. No appointment needed!

Transition to Work - Who are we? What do we do? - Friday 12 April

Asuria - Transition to Work
Ground floor, 126-130 High St, Maryborough

Come along for a free site tour and staff presentation by the Asuria team, explaining how Transition to Work can provide: 

- an added layer of support while entering the workforce; 

- support with finding & maintaining employment; 

- government financial assistance for training, qualifications, work attire & work equipment; 

- 1:1 mentoring- a personalised approach;

- wellbeing services; and

- a general Q&A session.

The tour will run at 1pm, with a second session opening based on demand.

The general community, job seekers and young people (including school students), seniors, or those seeking to change employment are encouraged to come along to events.

Management of individual events is the responsibility of each organisation involved, however the Shire is willing to discuss options to offer support if required (e.g. transport assistance).

Please note that all events open to minors are hosted and supervised by a staff member who holds a current Working With Children Check.
