Fire and emergencies

Emergencies can take many forms, including natural disaster such as fire or flood, tragic incidents, or other forms of loss or disruption to people’s lives.

Council works closely with emergency services, particularly Victoria Police, the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning (DELWP) and State Emergency Service (SES), and other authorities, such as the Department of Infrastructure and VicRoads to ensure appropriate measures are in place in the event of an emergency.

Central Goldfields Shire Council operates under the Northern Victorian Integrated Emergency Management(PDF, 3MB) Plan which was developed in conjunction with Campaspe Shire, City of Greater Bendigo, Mount Alexander Shire and Loddon Shire councils. The Plan addresses the prevention of, preparedness for, response to and recovery from emergencies within the Central Goldfields Shire Council.

Council also has a number of specific plans;

Integrated Pandemic Plan(PDF, 932KB)

Integrated Emergency Animal Welfare Plan(PDF, 510KB)
