FLOOD RECOVERY – ROADS

Our roads, like many roads across the state, have been hard hit by the recent flood events.

Full restoration works on our road, bridge and drainage network will be a long-term challenge. It’s going to take time and will require extensive funding through Victorian Government recovery funding streams.

To secure the funding, the condition of our roads, bridges and drainage culverts needs to be assessed by an independent contractor.

Council have engaged Shepherd Services (pictured), and this work is now underway across our road, bridge and drainage network.

Once the assessment is complete, we will have a priority list of works and improvements that can be submitted to the Victorian Government for funding to deliver the works that are needed.

In the meantime, Council will continue to do regular road maintenance to make our roads as safe as possible.

We’ll continue to keep our community updated as this process continues.

Community Satisfaction Survey

We’ve shifted from annual to quarterly telephone interviews for the Community Satisfaction Survey.

This means National Field Services will conduct 100 calls per quarter of the coming year.

The third quarter calls will begin on 14 November to 11 December so your household might receive a call to ask you a range of questions about the different services Council provides.

The information you provide will help us to identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to our residents.

Your details and individual responses are confidential, and we appreciate your valuable feedback. Results will still be reported once per year as normal.

WELCOME TO CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS

Blackfella Films are currently filming in the Central Goldfields Shire. They are following the journey of residents who have moved to the Shire as part of the Welcome to Central Goldfields project.

You may see the film crew at some of our major events between now and early next year as they follow the lives of our newest residents.

While their primary focus will be on the new residents, they will also be filming in the community and capturing the voices and lives of local people, there will be information about what’s happening and on how you can opt out of being in front of the camera.
