Preparing for fire season - travel permit process

Published on 21 October 2021

Whilst Melbourne residents still aren’t able to visit regional Victoria – despite restrictions easing from 11.59pm, Thursday 21 October – there are exceptions in place.

Melbourne residents are able to visit their homes for fire preparedness reasons, under a travel permit that we may have issued under the Chief Health Officer and Victorian Government guidelines.

This means that Melbourne based property owners can spend a maximum of 72 hours preparing their Central Goldfields Shire property before the fire season commences.
