HAVE YOUR SAY

Daisy Hill

Over the past year, residents of Daisy Hill have worked with Paddys Ranges Ward Councillor, Chris Meddows Taylor and our Council staff to prepare a plan for the future for their community.

This draft plan is still available for the Daisy Hill community to make final comments and suggestions. You can provide feedback by:

Feedback is welcome until 13 December 2023.

Maryborough Heritage Review

We play an important role in protecting the magnificent heritage that has been left to our community by past generations. We try to strike a balance between using the Central Goldfields Planning Scheme to protect places of heritage significance, without unduly restricting what people can do with their property.

During 2023, a review of the blanket Heritage Overlay covering much of Maryborough recommended a series of more defined precincts.

Affected property owners and others interested in Maryborough’s heritage are invited to have their say on the proposed changes to the Maryborough overlay.

For further information:

Feedback is welcome until 13 December.

Events Strategy

We know community events are important to our whole Shire. To help us understand how we can better support our existing events, and explore ways to attract new events, we are inviting residents, visitors, venue operators and event organisers to complete a short survey.

The survey is open until Wednesday, 13 December and can be completed via the project webpage: www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/events

Local Law Review

You are invited to help shape our local laws, covering a range of diverse topics from unsightly land, fire safety, animals, noise, reserves and footpath trading, to planting on nature strips.

Collect a hard copy survey from our Customer Service Centre, 22 Nolan Street or Maryborough Regional Library

Business and Industry Staff Recruitment

Finding and keeping staff in our businesses and services has been a challenge in recent years. To keep a measure on progress, we invite our local business owners and managers to contribute to a 15-minute survey about staff retention and recruitment.

This will allow us to compare results from 2022 to the current time, and is in partnership with La Trobe University. To complete the survey and for further information:

Visit: https://engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/businesssurvey

Email: brian.gould@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au, Council’s Economic Development Officer

The survey is open until the end of 2023.

SUMMER STORIES

‘The BIG Summer Read’ is a library program to keep our young people engaged with the written word over the holiday season, especially once school ends.

Designed for children and young people up to 18 years, the statewide program is a fun and engaging approach for families to keep connected with our libraries at Maryborough and Dunolly, and across the state. It fosters ‘reading for fun’ and greatly improves literacy.

Families and young people can register via a phone app or online, then track their progress, score points, and compare as they borrow and read books – all for free.

ROADSIDE SLASHING

Our roadside slashing program is continuing in and around Dunolly, moving towards Timor/Bowenvale through the week. Another crew is working the Talbot area.

For us to manage the growth along our roadsides and in our reserves, an external contractor will concentrate on areas within townships.

We ask drivers around these areas to take care and observe any warning signs or speed limits, for everyone’s safety.

IMPOUNDED LIVESTOCK

The livestock listed below were impounded from the Alma area:

  • 1 white crossbred sheep
  • 1 white with black markings crossbred sheep

If the above mentioned livestock are not collected and expenses paid by 4pm, 15 December 2023, the livestock will be sold.

If you require more information, please contact our Customer Service on 5461 0610 during business hours.
