PRINCES PARK GRANDSTAND UPDATE

The Princes Park Grandstand is an iconic landmark in Maryborough and the backdrop to community sport and the award-winning Energy Breakthrough event.

Now it is the time for us to advocate so that the Grandstand can be refurbished and preserved for generations to come.

Our first step is to get clear on what our community needs and to develop detailed designs to support funding opportunities when suitable grants become available.

We are currently advertising a tender for an architect to help lead this work. Once appointed we’ll be calling for our community to help with this process.

You can register your interest in this process and receive direct, regular updates on progress:

LOCAL WORK

 hospitality.ordering.png

We’re inviting interested businesses and organisations in our region to take part in an ‘Industry Open House Week’, by nominating a time for at least one site tour or presentation, showcasing the employment opportunities you offer.

We have developed this additional initiative due to the limited places available at the recent Maryborough Careers Expo. Our Industry Open House Week will be held from Monday, 8 April to Friday, 12 April.

Your business or organisation can submit a short Expression of Interest form to outline what it can offer to job seekers, those seeking a change of career or those re-entering the workforce.

For further information and submission of your EOI, visit:

www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/IndustryOpenHouse

POOLS

Works are well underway on the 25-metre indoor pool at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre, with preparation of the pool shell for the new tile installation now underway.

The project is on track for completion late May and is thanks to funding through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program.

To ensure our community has access to aquatic facilities for as long as possible during the warm weather, the Talbot and Dunolly outdoor pools will remain open until Monday 1 April.

ANIMAL REGISTRATIONS

Animal registration renewal notices have now been issued by mail. Registrations are due by 10 April.

Registering a dog or cat greatly improves the chances of it being returned if it becomes lost. There are substantial discounts for desexed cats and dogs, with further discounts for pensioners.
