Can you believe that the 2022 Energy Breakthrough (EB) is only three weeks away?

Returning for the first time since 2019, EB will celebrate its 30+ years from November 16th to 20th, right here in Maryborough!

Attracting over 5,000 students from over 110 Victorian schools, a crowd of over 20,000 is expected to flock through the Princes Park gates during this time. This will give our local tourism, hospitality, accommodation and retail businesses a much-welcomed boost after a tough two years.

My family was involved with EB for well over a decade, with all my three children participating, first with Timor Primary School and then with Highview College. I personally love EB so much, that after my youngest finished year twelve I spent another three years supporting Highview College’s EB efforts in my role as Chair of the Highview College Board.

The past two years, I’ve been the EB Governance Group Chair and I cannot wait to welcome everyone back for this event. But we do need your help, as we require 1000 volunteers to run EB. Did you know that putting your name down as a volunteer doesn’t mean you have to make yourself available every day of the five-day event? If you only have a morning, an afternoon or one full day to contribute – that’s ok, any time you can spare is gratefully accepted!

I too will be volunteering during the event, you bet - as a Display & Presentation Judge. This is an area we are short numbered in and need more volunteers. If you can help us out on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th November 8.45am to 5.00pm, please get in touch. Who knows, we might be on a judging panel together!
