Pride Support Group
Are you a young person who identifies as LGBTQIA+? Our Central Goldfields Youth team have some funding to
support young LGBTQIA+ people in our region, and we want to hear from you about how we should do it.

CELEBRATING OUR COMMUNITY
FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
$60,000 is up for grabs as part of Council’s Community Grants Program.
■ $30,000 is available in this year’s Community Support Grants program.
■ In partnership with the Victorian Government, there is also $30,000 on offer as part of the CASI Community Recovery Grants program.
Applications for both programs close on Friday 19 November with recipients to be announced in December.

MARYBOROUGH ROAD UPGRADES
The following road upgrades are underway:
■ Gillies Street (between Sutton Road and Layton Road) – this project jointly funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Infrastructure Program and Council.
■ Pascoe Avenue – funded as part of Council’s 2021/22 Budget – Road Renewal Program.
SKATE AND SCOOTER PARK UPDATE
Planning for the construction of the new $643,260 Skate and Scooter Park at the Princes Park precinct in Maryborough is continuing.
Earlier this week you may have seen the project contractor on site who was undertaking some preliminary site measuring.
The project, funded by the Victorian Government, Council and the Avoca Co-operative and Community Enterprise Foundation, is waiting on approval by Heritage Victoria.
BEALIBA NEWS
Roadside Slashing
In preparation for the upcoming fire season, our Operations team is continuing the roadside slashing program.
Following heavy rain and a machinery breakdown last week, slashing has now been completed in the Bealiba area and the crews have commenced work in Dunolly and surrounds.
Bealiba Hall upgrade
Thanks to the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Infrastructure Program the following upgrades have been completed at the Bealiba Hall:
■ New kitchen and kitchen appliances
■ Split system air conditioner installed in the Main Hall
■ Floors were sanded, re-coated and polished
In the coming weeks, new play equipment will also be installed – along with a new shade sail over both play areas.
DUNOLLY NEWS
Two new footpaths are currently being constructed:
■ 300 meter stretch of footpath along Bull Street, between Market Street and Havelock Street.
■ 100 meter stretch of footpath along Market Street, from Bull Street to the Dunolly Swimming Pool.
Both projects are funded as part of the 2021-2022 Council Budget.
