Permits - vehicle, road and works related

1. Overview

Permits are required for any works impacting on Central Goldfields Shire Council assets including the road reserve.

Council Permits (excluding B Double Permits) can be applied for by downloading Roads-and-Public-Places-Application-Form.pdf(PDF, 194KB)

Permit applications should be submitted 7 to 10 business days before starting works.  Late applications may delay your projects.

Inspections for permits are available from Monday to Thursday.

2. Vehicle Crossover Permits

A vehicle crossover is the link between your drive and the road.

The installation and maintenance of the crossover is the property owners’ responsibility. If you wish to put a new crossover in, or change an existing one, you need a permit from Council to do so.

 All crossovers must:

  • have a permit before works start;
  • be built to Council standards; and
  • be inspected before any concrete is poured.

Crossovers must be built according to specifications:

  • Urban residential - SD240
  • Urban industrial – SD250
  • Rural – SD255

A Permit is required to dig up any section of Council road or footpath. Council assets must be restored to their previous condition at the end of any works.

To do so, a Consent for Works Permit must be obtained - the Consent for Works Permit is also known as a 'Road Opening Permit'.

  • construction
