We’re inviting you to capture the moments, places and views that mean the most to you in our Proudly Central Goldfields photo competition.

The winning photo will be chosen by our community via Council’s Facebook page with the winner to be announced on Friday 10 April 2026. The community can vote for any of the images - but won't know who took it or where it's from! It's all about the photo.

Terms and conditions

 

  1. Promoter: Central Goldfields Shire Council, 22 Nolan Street, Maryborough, Victoria, 3465
  2. Eligibility: Open to Central Goldfields Shire residents, ratepayers and visitors. Council employees and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
  3. How to Enter: Upload your photo via the form on this page - including your details (for our records), location of photo and short description about why you love this location in the Central Goldfields Shire.
  4. Images:
    • Your entry must be taken in Central Goldfields Shire municipality 
    • Images featuring people require consent from those appearing in the photo
    • Image must be created by the entrant, who must own the copyright
    • Photos must be submitted in JPEG format and +1MB preferred
    • Photographs that have been doctored, constructed or altered will not be eligible
    • Photographs that have been generated or produced by AI will not be eligible
  5. Competition period: Entries now open until 11:59pm, Monday 23 March 2026.
  6. Prizes: The winning photo will receive a $150 local prize (e.g. voucher)
  7. Winner selection: Council will post the photo entries on Council’s Facebook page and the photo with the most Facebook likes/loves will be the winner. The photographer's details will not be visible during voting. Winners will be announced on Council’s Facebook page on Friday 10 April, 2026. 
  8. Notification: Winners will be contacted via email. If a winner cannot be contacted within 7 days, a new winner may be selected.
  9. Content Use: By entering, participants consent to Central Goldfields Shire Council sharing their photo (with credit) on Council’s social media channels, website and publications and affiliated Council organisations including Visit Maryborough.
