Change of Address/Details
Any changes to your contact details, personal details, or the person responsible for paying the rates, must be provided to Council in writing.
The Local Government Act 2020 requires property owners and ratepayers to advise of any changes in ownership or mailing address.
Incorrect addresses and ownership records may cause unnecessary delays in the delivery of your rate notice. This may result in interest charges due to late payment of rates.
It is essential that you:
• Notify Council in writing if you change your residential or mailing address
• Ensure your solicitor or conveyancer notifies Council of ownership changes
The change of details online form is available to update below or a downloadable copy here(PDF, 154KB)
The form must be signed by all property owner/s, and the owner’s residential address is required for voting purposes.
If your name has changed, you need to provide us with supporting documentation, such as a marriage certificate or birth certificate etc.
If ownership of a property changes, liability for the payment of rates and charges remains with the owner recorded in Council records.
This will only be updated when Council receives a Notice of Acquisition/Disposition from the vendor, purchaser, solicitor, or conveyancer.
Notice is required to be sent within one month of transfer.
