1 December to 4 January:
StoryWalk - new book for New Year!
The best thing about StoryWalk is there's a different book each holidays! Plus you can enjoy Phillips Gardens all year round. Our new book, Why I Love Summer by Michael Wagner and Tom Jellett is the ideal story for the season, starting from 5 January. You can also take a look at our resident native flying foxes who are hanging around in the Gardens.
6 December to Monday 10 March 2026:
Outdoor Pools, Dunolly and Talbot

Stay COOL at the POOL ! If it's 25 degrees or over, the outdoor pools are ready to splash!
Talbot and Dunolly pools are FREE for the summer season, so enjoy!
Locations: 1 Market Street, Dunolly / Scandinavian Crescent, Talbot
Facilities: 25m pool, toddlers pool, shading
Hours:
- Daily, 3.30pm to 7pm on school days
- 1pm to 7pm on weekends and school holidays.
- Closed Christmas Day.
6 December to Monday 10 March 2026:
Indoor Pool, Maryborough

Location: 40 Gillies Street, Maryborough
Facilities: 25m indoor pool, toddlers pool, play equipment, food and drink
Hours:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays - from 6am to 8pm
- Tuesdays and Thursdays - 9am to 8pm
- Weekends - 9am to 7pm
- closed Christmas Day
Casual pool entry is $4 for adults and $3 for under 18's over the season.
20 December to Tuesday 27 January:
Visitor Centre

This School Holidays, make sure you visit the Central Goldfields Visitor Centre, anytime between 9.00am to 5.00pm seven days a week for:
- The Welcome Stranger animation
- Worth It’s Weight in Gold interactive activity
- Free Activities bag
Location: The Historic Maryborough Railway Station

2 January to Tuesday 27 January:
NGV Kids on Tour
Free, drop-in art activities for kids these summer holidays. Free drawing and making activities from the NGV at Central Goldfields Art Gallery. There’s art to make for every age! Available each day of the school holidays during Gallery opening hours
Location: Old Fire Station,1 Neill Street Maryborough
Hours: Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm
Monday 12 January to Saturday 27 January (up to 4 sessions)
Strange Garden Cardboard Sculpture Workshops

Create bold cardboard structures that will grow into a full installation over four sessions during the holidays! Come along to one session - or all of them.. separate workshops for younger and older. Suited for ages 8-18yrs. Booking required. Free.
Led by acclaimed artist Eliza Jane Gilchrist, will culminate in a public opening event, showcasing the full installation of participants’ creative endeavours!
