ANZAC DAY

Anzac Day is a time for us to reflect on the service, courage, and legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend and protect our way of life as Australians.

Townships across our Shire will commemorate Anzac Day with services tomorrow, Saturday 25 April.

ANZAC DAY CHANGES TO COUNCIL SERVICES

Maryborough Regional Library, Central Goldfields Art Gallery and our Transfer Stations will be closed Saturday 25 April. 

Our Central Goldfields Visitor Centre will be open 10am to 4pm. 

The Central Goldfields Shire Council after-hours service will operate as normal. For urgent issues about Council Infrastructure or animal control phone 5461 0610, 24 hours per day.

APRIL COUNCIL MEETING

The April Council Meeting was held earlier this week (22/04). The video recording of the meeting can be viewed online:

NOLAN STREET ROUNDABOUT

A new roundabout is being constructed on the corner of Nolan and Burns streets in Maryborough.

The project includes the installation of zebra crossings on all four approaches, improving safety for both motorists and pedestrians.

Funded by the Victorian Government, the project is expected to be completed by the end of June. Detours are currently in place during construction.

SURPLUS FURNITURE AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY USE

Council has a range of surplus furniture available and is inviting community groups and organisations to come and collect items at no charge.

Location: Former TAFE building, Maryborough (next to McDonald’s)

For community groups and organisations

Monday 27 April and Tuesday 28 April - 8 to 10am or 4 to 6pm

For the general community

Any remaining items will be available on: Wednesday 29 April and Thursday 30 April - 8 to 10am or 4 to 6pm

Items will need to be collected immediately, and community members will be required to organise their own transportation and any assistance required to move furniture. Council staff will only be present to maintain a register and document items collected.

Any uncollected furniture will be taken to the Carisbrook Transfer Station.

Please note Council provides no warranty, guarantee or liability for any items.

GOLDFIELDS RESERVOIR UPGRADE

Upgrade works at Goldfields Reservoir are continuing, with the dam wall on the Derby Road side being raised to stabilise the bank.

There will be no weekend access on 25–26 April and 2–3 May while works progress. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

PLANNING PERMIT AMENDMENT

Residents are advised of a Notice of an application for an amendment to a Planning Permit.

The land affected by the application is located at 675 Possum Gully Road, Adelaide Lead.
