Energy Breakthrough Community Group Expressions of Interest

The only educational program and event of its kind in Australia, EB engages and attracts over 17,000 students, teachers and parents each year, with around 5,000 students (Grade 3 – Year 12) camping onsite. The 5-day event is held 18-22 November 2026 in Maryborough, Victoria annually. Award-winning and high profile, EB is a community event operated by a small team of staff and an army of truly amazing volunteers. To find out more about the event, click here.

By participating in EB, Community Groups can contribute to a vital community event and gain fundraising support for their local group/club.

Energy Breakthrough has the following opportunities for community groups to get involved: 

Barrier Set Up and Pack Up

In 2026 Track 1 (1.58 km street circuit) will be used for all Trial events; Secondary HPV, Primary HPV , Tryathlon and Energy Efficient Vehicle. Track 1 is required to be set up with barriers prior to Tuesday 17 November 2026 and packed down on Sunday 22 November 2026.

Permanent Toilets and Showers Cleaning

Council is seeking a community group for the cleaning and restocking of permanent toilet and showers across the Princes Park event site for the next one to three events.

Sustainability Pit Crew

Energy Breakthrough (EB) is committed to reducing event waste. In partnership with our food vendors, EB has introduced a wash against waste system along with our recycling and organics waste streams to divert thousands of kgs of waste from landfill each year.
