Our general rates increase for 2025 – 2026 was3%, in line with inflation and the Victorian Government’s rate cap.

Councillors share the disappointment of all ratepayers that your notice this year includes a new tax from the Victorian Government — which local councils have to collect — the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund.
It’s our view that emergency services should be properly funded through the State’s general revenue – just like other essential public services.
We urge the Victorian Government to rethink its plan, and work with local governments and their communities to ensure a truly effective and equitable emergency services model.
