During this period, it will be ‘business as usual’, however, to comply with our Election Period Policy and the Local Government Act 2020, there are restrictions on the kinds of decisions that can be made, and the information that we can communicate to the public. For example, we can't open community consultations. This is to ensure Council actions don't influence voting in the election.

The Central Goldfields Shire Pound is Council-owned and operated, caring for hundreds of lost and surrendered animals every year including: cats, dogs and various livestock, including sheep, pigs, horses, goats, poultry and cattle.
Animals are cared for at the Central Goldfields Shire Pound while we attempt to find their owners. If no owner can be found, animals are assessed for their health and temperament, and then made available for adoption.
The Central Goldfields Shire Pound is located at 70 Burns Street, Maryborough and is open by appointment.
