PRINCES PARK NETBALL COURT
Council is committed to doing everything required to welcome netball back to Princes Park.
As part of this commitment, we’ve been working through the upgrades needed to ensure the Princes Park Netball Court is ready for the MCDFNL 2026 season and finals series.
Council recently met with Netball Victoria to confirm the works required to bring the court up to playing standard.
The agreed works include asphalt surface repairs to address cracking; updated line‑marking; high‑pressure cleaning of the court surface; and removal of the lakeside seating to create space for substitute and coaching marquees.
Council is committed to progressing these works as quickly as possible to ensure the court is safe, functional and ready for use.

ADVISORY GROUP READY FOR TAKE‑OFF
Eight community members have been appointed to the Maryborough Aerodrome Advisory Group for the 2026 - 2029 term, following a public Expression of Interest process.
Council approved the appointment of the following members: Ian Carfrae, Rod Brown, John Kidon, Gregory Thomas Corcoran, Anthony Ohlsen, Melanie Waddell, Cameron Bird and Benjamin Morgan.
Together, the group brings expertise across aviation training, aerodrome‑related businesses, emergency management, aerodrome safety and other key areas that will support the strategic direction set out in the Aerodrome Business Case.
The Advisory Group will provide expert advice to Council on the management, development, operation and maintenance of the Maryborough Aerodrome.

VOLUNTEER THANK YOU EVENT
Our local volunteers work in many settings and under a variety of conditions. They are there in disasters, they run events, they deliver vital services, and often their work in our community goes unnoticed.
To celebrate National Volunteer Week, we’ll be hosting a thank you evening to recognise and thank our wonderful volunteers for their dedication and contribution.
All volunteers in our Shire are invited to join us Monday 18 May, 5.30pm for a 5.45pm start at the Maryborough Highland Society. To register visit www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/volunteerthankyou or call our Customer Service team on 5461 0610.

GOLDFIELDS RESERVOIR UPGRADE
Due to wet weather, our Operations team will need another week to finish the upgrade works at Goldfields Reservoir. This means there will be no access this weekend 9 - 10 May. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
