DELEDIO PAVILION TO START  

The Dunolly and district community is invited to celebrate the commencement of the Deledio Pavilion at Dunolly Recreation Reserve this weekend.

After more than two decades of community advocacy, the first sod for the new Pavilion will be turned at 12noon tomorrow, Saturday 8 August, during the MCDFNL Round 17 match between Dunolly and Talbot.

Senator for Victoria Jana Stewart, Member for Ripon Martha Haylett, Member for Mallee Dr Anne Webster and Flynn Ward Cr Liesbeth Long will all be in attendance.

The new pavilion will replace the ageing 1977 facility, which has reached the end of its useful life and no longer meets contemporary standards for safety, accessibility, or functionality.

The project is jointly funded, with $1.5 million from the Federal Government, $1 million from the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports and Infrastructure Program, and a further $500,000 contribution from Council.

TALBOT ANA HALL UPGRADE COMPLETE

The Talbot ANA Hall is looking terrific, with major improvements now complete.

Restumping, structural repairs, floor re‑laying and associated works have all been carried out, giving the much‑loved hall a fresh lease on life.

This $100,000 upgrade has been made possible thanks to $50,000 from the Victorian Government Tiny Town Fund, $25,000 from Council and $25,000 from the Talbot ANA Hall Committee of Management. 

NEW KITCHEN FOR DAISY HILL

Great news for Daisy Hill with a project to deliver upgraded kitchen facilities now complete.

This $16,000 project was made possible thanks to $12,000 from the Victorian Government, $2,000 from Council, and a $2,000 contribution from the Daisy Hill Community Centre.

GREENING OUR STREETS

Earlier in the year, we invited residents to contact us if they wanted a street tree planted outside their property.

Our Parks and Gardens team has just finished planting the 58 requested trees in Maryborough, Dunolly, Talbot, Carisbrook, Majorca and Bealiba.

To help these young trees thrive, we’re asking local residents to support the establishment phase by watering them regularly as they develop their root systems.

PRINCES PARK NETBALL COURT READY FOR FINALS

The upgrades needed to ensure the Princes Park Netball Court is safe, functional and ready for use are now complete.

To return the court to playing standard, works included asphalt surface repairs to address cracking, updated line marking, and high‑pressure cleaning of the court surface.

With the court now ready for play, MCDFNL has confirmed that the 2026 finals series will return to Princes Park.

It will be fantastic to see Maryborough’s iconic Princes Park precinct serve as the backdrop for finals once again. The return of the finals series to Maryborough will also deliver a welcome economic boost for local businesses.
