GREEN WASTE TAGS

To help residents sort their waste into the right bin each week, our Waste Services team has designed new tags to advise bin users how they’re going.
We’re now monitoring bin contents with CCTV to minimise contamination of recyclable resources and green waste. Based on what we find, we’ll leave a report tag to guide each property how to improve the efficiency of their collection service.
Keep an eye out for the newly marked collection trucks moving around our Shire, and you can learn more about sorting, safety and ease of collection. For example, did you know foil and paper milk and juice cartons (tetra packs) should go into general waste, not recycling?

ROADS REPORT
Safety upgrades

Our Roads and Works team have completed a major intersection upgrade at the junction of Clarendon Street, Palmerston Street and Dundas Road, Maryborough.
The works are part of the Victorian Government’s Safe Local Roads and Streets program, which is being delivered in partnership with the Traffic Accident Commission.
The next intersection to be upgraded will be the corner of Alma & Brougham streets in Maryborough, which was scheduled to start this week but has been postponed due to the wet weather forecast.
Our team is expected to start there next week - we'll keep you up to date. For further upcoming upgrades, visit:

LOCAL LAWS

In late 2023 we asked the community how we should draft our new local laws, which require updating every ten years. We met with communities around our Shire and encouraged feedback, paying particular attention to common complaints and requests we receive.
Since then, we have drafted the Local Law 2025 with support from our legal advisor, incorporating some new laws and clarifying some existing laws.
You can now review the Draft Local Law 2025 and see a list of the changes, then comment by visiting:
