HONDA POWERS THE FUTURE OF INNOVATION AT ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH

Energy-Breakthroughs-Nigel-Preston-poses-with-students-of-Holy-Cross-College.jpg

We are proud to announce a two-year partnership with Energy Breakthrough and Honda Australia - a huge milestone in the ongoing success of the biggest event on our local calendar.

The partnership was announced in Sydney yesterday with Maryborough-born and bred AFL Brisbane Lions Premiership player Kai Lohmann.

The event logo will now feature the tagline:  Energy Breakthrough – powered by Honda.

The tracks will be re-named Honda Maryborough Track (T1) and Honda Lakeside Track (T2) with Honda to also feature on track signage, volunteer uniforms and the popular event guide.

Honda will also have an on-site activation, providing students and spectators the opportunity to explore Honda’s latest technologies and meet members of its teams.

The 2025 Energy Breakthrough event, powered by Honda, will take place from Wednesday, 19 November to Sunday, 23 November in Maryborough, Victoria.

ROAD WORK CREW

luke.road.jpg

Residents in Outen Street, Maryborough advised of a problem in their street. Their guttering was breaking up and a dip had formed on the edge of the road.

Our Roads and Works crew have been working to investigate the damage and have discovered a problem with water underground. Once the cause is resolved, the road will be restored and new gutters will be installed.

We routinely inspect over 1500km of sealed and unsealed Council-owned roads across our Shire, but it helps if the community keeps an eye out for problems too.

The sooner we know about a problem, the less damage is likely to occur – which also saves money on repair work.

You can report problems you see on our roads by visiting:

www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/Report-A-Problem

On our website you can fill in a quick form, upload images and give us an accurate location, so we can investigate quickly.

Alternately you can email: mail@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or phone our Customer Service team on 5461 0610.

KEEPING CLEAN AND GREEN

Our transfer stations will offer green waste disposal without charge (up to 3 cubic metres per vehicle) from today (31 October) until Tuesday 11 November.

The initiative supports the CFA’s “Get Fire Ready” campaign which urges Victorians to prepare, understand their fire risk and reduce fuel loads on their properties in the lead up to the Fire Danger Period declaration on 17 November.

Those using the service are reminded to avoid contamination of green waste, which we process into quality compost at our Carisbrook facility.

Transfer stations operate normally over Melbourne Cup week:

  • Carisbrook – Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 10am to 4.30pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm; open Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday 4 November 10am to 4.30pm
  • Talbot – Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday from 9am to 1pm
  • Dunolly - Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday from 9am to 1pm

A reminder that our transfer station in Bealiba does not currently collect green waste.
