YOUTH HUB REOPENS  

The Engage Youth Hub has reopened in Maryborough, offering a safe, creative and welcoming space for young people aged 13–23 to connect, learn and access support.

Designed with young people, the Hub at 22 Nolan Street features weekly drop‑ins, creative and social activities, wellbeing and skills programs, and inclusive spaces for all identities.

With youth voice at its core, the Hub is also developing future partnerships to provide direct access to wellbeing and support services.

The Youth Hub is open Wednesdays, 1 to 5pm – with Fridays to be added later in 2026.

G’DAY AND WELCOME

Central Goldfields Shire’s newest citizens were officially welcomed at a Citizenship Ceremony this week.

Thirteen conferees from the Philippines, New Zealand, Kenya, England, Belarus, Sri Lanka and Canada gathered at the Maryborough Community Hub to formally pledge their commitment to Australia.

UPDATED SPEED LIMITS – MARYBOROUGH

The Victorian Government is rolling out new speed limits across several state‑owned roads to improve safety for everyone travelling in and around Maryborough:

  • Bendigo - Maryborough Road (Park Road)

Gladstone St → Tuaggra St

60 → 50 km/h (1.5 km)

  • Pyrenees Highway (Inkerman St)

Napier St → High St

60 → 50 km/h (220 m)

  • Pyrenees Highway (High St)

Inkerman St → Lamb St

60 → 50 km/h (900 m)

  • Pyrenees Highway (Sutton Rd)

400 m east of Margaret Ave → Flagstaff Lane

100 → 80 km/h (1.2 km)

  • Ballarat–Maryborough Road (Derby Rd)

Napier St → Capilano Dr

70 → 60 km/h (1.4 km)

  • Ballarat–Maryborough Road (Derby Rd)

Capilano Dr → Centenary Track

100 → 80 km/h (550 m)

  • Bendigo–Maryborough Road (Maryborough–Dunolly Rd)

Drive In Court → south of Morses Lane

80 → 60 km/h (400 m)

  • Maryborough–St Arnaud Road (Phelan Rd)

Collins Court → west of Fink St

80 → 60 km/h (450 m)

To keep speeds consistent along Inkerman Street, the speed limit will also be adjusted on this Council owned road:

  • Inkerman St / Majorca Rd

Gladstone St → Gillies St

60 → 50 km/h

The new limits are being introduced now. Please take extra care and be mindful of changed traffic conditions as signage is updated across these areas.

MAINTENANCE GRADING UNDERWAY

Recent rain means the conditions are perfect for our crews to carry out maintenance grading across the Shire – both on unsealed roads and shoulders on sealed roads.

We have three grader crews currently working through requests around the Bealiba, Amherst and Moolort areas.
