WE’RE LISTENING

We’re inviting residents to provide feedback on our Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026–2029.

Between August and September last year, 90 community members shared their views through surveys and in-person feedback sessions, helping to shape the draft Plan.

Through this process community shared with us concerns around responsible pet ownership, particularly relating to roaming cats and dogs.

In response, Council has developed a draft Plan that aims to address these issues while supporting a safe, respectful, and balanced community for both pet owners and non-pet owners.

GOLDFIELDS RESERVOIR

GOLDFIELDS.RESERVOIR.jpg

Our Operations team began upgrade works at Goldfields Reservoir this week, taking advantage of low water levels. Please note sections of the walking track will be closed at times over the next four weeks.

A section of the dam, along the Derby Road side of the Reservoir, will be raised to stabilise and level the bank.  Saplings, low branches and overgrown bush will be cleaned up along the track, though no established trees will need removal.

Rocks will be added to the dam wall, the walking track will be re-gravelled and seating will be replaced.

Making the dam wall higher will make the reservoir safer for community use and will keep the dam wall strong and reliable for years to come.

This project is part of the Victoria Government’s stabilisation and safety upgrades for dams across the state.
