FUNDS TO SUPPORT VULNERABLE CHILDREN
Council is urging State Election candidates to reinvest in Go Goldfields, a proven initiative that supported vulnerable children and families until funding ceased in 2024.
The place‑based partnership delivered strong outcomes in a highly disadvantaged community.
With 40.7% of local children developmentally vulnerable, compared with 23.5% nationally, renewed investment is essential.

FUTURE SKILLS EXPO
Local employers, training providers, support services and community organisations are invited to take part in LETS Maryborough, a Learning, Employment, Training and Skills event designed to connect job seekers with opportunities across the Central Goldfields region.
The event will be held on Thursday 8 October 2026, from 11.30am to 2.30pm at Maryborough Town Hall.
Organisations are encouraged to register as stall holders to showcase your services, programs, employment opportunities or community initiatives in a relaxed and engaging environment.

SPRING HOLIDAY FUN
It’s been great to see so many families enjoying our spring school holiday program this week.
There’s still plenty on offer to keep kids entertained over the coming week including banner making, mural painting, fintastic fun at the Gallery and a visit from the Melbourne Museum.

ACROSS THE SHIRE
Plenty is happening across the Shire this week, with our Operations team busy with maintenance grading in the Timor/Bromley area, roadside spraying, mowing parks and open spaces, preparing ovals for cricket, fixing potholes and edge breaks on sealed roads, repairing doors at Talbot Museum, installing a new ramp at Carisbrook Senior Citizens. The new seats were also installed at Goldfields Reservoir and look fantastic.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY SERVICE CHANGES
Please note our Customer Service Centre, VicRoads, Maryborough Regional Library, Goldfields Children’s Centre and Depot/Pound are closed Friday 25 September for the AFL Grand Final public holiday.
The Central Goldfields Visitor Centre and Central Goldfields Art Gallery will remain open from 10am to 4pm and our waste services are unaffected.
