GOLDFIELDS CHILDREN’S CENTRE OPEN DAY
Families are invited to discover a warm, nurturing early‑years environment at the Goldfields Children’s Centre Open Day tomorrow, Saturday 23 May, from 10am to 12 noon.
The Open Day offers local families the opportunity to explore the Centre’s indoor and outdoor facilities, learn about the three‑ and four‑year‑old kindergarten programs, find out about session days and times, meet educators, and enjoy family‑friendly activities.
The Council‑run Goldfields Children’s Centre offers a stable and caring environment where children are supported to learn, play and thrive. The Open Day is a great opportunity for families to connect with educators and explore the Centre’s high‑quality kindergarten programs and the dedicated team behind them.

HEDGES OVAL NETBALL COURT
Construction of the new netball court at Hedges Oval is now underway, with the project being delivered by local contractor Maffescioni Constructions.
Made possible thanks to funding from the Victorian Government, the $450,000 upgrade includes: new court surface, training‑standard compliant lighting, player shelters, new retaining wall and fenceline improvements.
The court is on track for completion by the end of June, with the contract for the new lighting infrastructure to be awarded shortly.
Thank you to the Maryborough Giants Football Netball Club for their patience while the project is being delivered.

WAREEK HALL UPGRADE COMPLETE
An upgrade to the Wareek Hall is now complete and has delivered improved security with upgraded doors, locks and lighting, a new concrete wheelchair‑accessible ramp, and a small awning verandah at the rear of the building
The project has been made possible thanks to joint funding from the Victorian Government’s Tiny Towns Fund, Council and the Wareek Public Hall Committee.

DIG IN AND GROW YOUR OWN FOOD
Local residents are invited to practical, beginner‑friendly vegetable gardening workshop, this Sunday 24 May, 10am to 12noon at Mill House, 88-90 Burke Street, Maryborough.
The free workshop is being led by the Maryborough Community Garden, in partnership with the Victorian Government’s Healthy Loddon Campaspe initiative and Council.
The workshop covers the basics of starting a home veggie patch — from choosing the right spot and improving soil to selecting seasonal veggies.
No registration necessary.

NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK
Happy National Volunteer Week! On Monday night, together with the Maryborough Volunteer Resource Group, we proudly celebrated more than 150 incredible local volunteers at our annual thank‑you event.

This is your chance to get free one on one advice to help you start, build, or transform your small business. Confidential sessions are 45-minutes, free of charge and bookings are essential. The bus stop is at Phillips Gardens, 52A Alma Street, Maryborough.

OPEN FOR BUSINESS AS USUAL
The new roundabout on the corner of Nolan and Burns streets in Maryborough continues to take shape with works expected to be complete by the end of June – weather permitting.
All businesses along Nolan Street continue to remain open for business as usual during the project – please continue to support them.
MAY COUNCIL MEETING
