After more than two decades of advocacy, the Deledio Recreation Reserve new pavilion project has moved a step closer.

The request for tender for the design and construction tender for the new modular multi-use pavilion is now publicly advertised with submissions due 23 December, 2025.

Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Ben Green acknowledged the tireless efforts of Ward Councillor and previous Mayor Cr Liesbeth Long.

“The release of the tender marks a major milestone in delivering a much-needed redevelopment for the Dunolly community.

“With the current facilities beyond useability – members of the Dunolly community have worked tirelessly over many years to secure upgraded clubrooms.

“Council has worked alongside the Deledio Pavilion Reference Group to develop the concept design for the facility and advocate for the funding required to make the project a reality.

“Together, we successfully secured $1.5 million from the Federal Government, $1 million from the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports and Infrastructure Program – with Council to contribute a further $500,000.

“The vision is to deliver a space and facility which is accessible and benefits the entire community.”

“We look forward to the upgraded facility serving the wider community for years to come.”

The new pavilion will feature:

  • Modern change rooms
  • Kitchen and community hospitality facilities
  • Undercover social and viewing areas
  • First aid facilities
  • Sustainable design elements, including rainwater harvesting and solar power

The start date for detailed design and construction will be confirmed following the awarding of the contract.

Construction is expected in the second half of 2026.
