Princes Park Grandstand

In March we advised that termite damage in one of the structural beams at the Princes Park Grandstand had been detected. We have since received advice from structural engineers and have scheduled work to start at the end of the local football season in mid-September.

Works are likely to take several weeks.

To ensure the safety of the community, especially during finals season when large crowds are expected, a section of the grandstand will remain closed off. Engineers have determined the grandstand is safe provided it is not over-stressed in that section.

Council is also developing plans for a further, major renovation of the whole stand.
