During this period, it will be ‘business as usual’, however, to comply with our Election Period Policy and the Local Government Act 2020, there are restrictions on the kinds of decisions that can be made, and the information that we can communicate to the public. For example, we can't open community consultations. This is to ensure Council actions don't influence voting in the election.
Election Period Policy
The Election Period (otherwise known as Caretaker Period) is a period where Council business needs to be done a little differently to ensure a fair and equitable election.
The Election Period will start at 12pm on Tuesday 17 September and will end at 6pm on Saturday 26 October 2024.
