During this period, it will be ‘business as usual’, however, to comply with our Election Period Policy and the Local Government Act 2020, there are restrictions on the kinds of decisions that can be made, and the information that we can communicate to the public. For example, we can't open community consultations. This is to ensure Council actions don't influence voting in the election.
Election Period Policy
An election campaign donation return is a record of significant gifts received by election candidates for use in the election campaigns. These returns ensure public transparency about the level of financial and in-kind support give to by individuals and organisations during elections.
Council is required under legislation to keep of summary of election campaign donation returns on its website until two months before the next general election.
Below is a summary of campaign donation returns received from candidates in the Central Goldfields Shire Council Elections 2020 which includes the name of the candidate, the name of each person, if any, who made a gift to the candidate and the total value of the gift received from that person.
