Land Capability Assessment
Any planning permit application for a development within an unsewered area is required to be accompanied by a Land Capability Assessment (LCA) - a report that may need to be submitted to Council if a septic system (on-site wastewater management system) is planned to treat wastewater from a residential development.
The LCA will:
- Show Council if the proposed site is capable of sustainably managing the household’s wastewater within allotment boundaries;
- Identify a management program to put in place to minimise the health and environmental impacts of on-site wastewater management.
