We’re inviting residents to contribute local knowledge and experience to inform the ongoing Flood Study for Maryborough township and surrounds.

The flood study is a partnership project between Council, North Central Catchment Management Authority and the Victorian State Emergency Service.

Community members who have an interest in the study, or who have knowledge of past flooding or drainage problems around Maryborough are encouraged to get involved via:

  • Drop-in community information session: Thursday 26 November from 1 to 3pm at the Resource Centre foyer in Maryborough.

The session will include presentations from specialist water consultants, Water Modelling Solutions, who are undertaking the study in partnership with Council.

This second round of consultation will involve presentation of the preliminary flood study results undertaken by WMS.  WMS will invite community feedback on the preliminary results and then WMS will request community ideas for methods of mitigating the existing flooding.

Water Modelling Solutions will also have staff in attendance with whom you can discuss local flooding and drainage issues and flood mitigation ideas  following the presentation.
