Draft Long-Term Financial Plan
 
At the September Council Meeting, Council endorsed the Draft Long-Term Financial Plan 2021-22 to 2030-31 for community feedback.
 
Feedback is invited until 5pm, Wednesday 13 October with the Draft Plan available to view online at www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/financialplan
 
The Long-Term Financial Plan sets out how the actions of the Central Goldfields Shire Council Plan 2021-2025 will be funded to achieve the Central Goldfields Shire Community Vision.
 
Draft Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan
 
Central Goldfields Shire is calling for feedback on its Draft Municipal Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025.
 
The Draft Plan aims to improve health and wellbeing across key areas in our community for the next four years.
 
The Draft Plan was endorsed for community feedback at the September Council Meeting (28/09).
 
Feedback is invited until 5pm, Wednesday 13 October, with the Draft document available to view online at www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/municipalhealthandwellbeing

 

COVID-19 update
 
In line with State Government requirements, all authorised workers are mandated to have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination by Friday 15 October.

Pride Support Group

Community grants open now
 
Council is excited to announce there are two grant programs open for community groups to apply for funding. The two programs are the Community Support Grants and the CASI Community Recovery Grants.
 
Approximately $30,000 is available in this year’s Community Support Grants program and community groups and organisations can apply for grants above $500.
 
The Community Support Grants will be open until 5pm Friday 19 November.
 
Council, in partnership with the State Government, is also offering $30,000 in the CASI Community Recovery Grants program.
 
This funding will enable local organisations and groups to support people who experience loneliness, isolation and disconnection to establish social networks through:
• practical help
• emotional support
• social activities

Neighbourhood Safer Places
 
Council has adopted the 2021 / 2022 Municipal Neighbourhood Safer Places Plan (NSP Plan).
 
Required under the Emergency Services Legislation Amendment Act and the Country Fire Authority Act, the Neighbourhood Safer Places Plan identifies that there are
five designated Neighbourhood Places (Places of Last Resort) in our Shire.
 
 
Seniors Festival
 
This year’s Seniors Festival is being held online with plenty of great video and radio performances until December.

Calling all local artists
 
Submissions are now open for the 2021 Community Arts Exhibition.
 
Central Goldfields Shire and Avoca residents may enter in artwork of any media such as paintings, sketches, textiles, digital work, ceramics, sculptures, miniatures and
woodwork.
 

 

Road works update

 

Gillies Street
 
Road construction works are now taking place on Gillies Street (between Sutton Road and Layton Road).
 
Where possible, traffic will continue throughout the works although some road closures are expected during the project.
 
For the safety of all road users and pedestrians please obey all traffic signage and the direction of traffic controllers.
 
These works will take approximately 10 weeks.
 
Pascoe Avenue
 
Works to upgrade Pascoe Avenue in Maryborough have now commenced.
 
The project, funded as part of Council’s 2021/22 Budget, is part of Council’s road renewal program and includes new kerb and channel, road reconstruction and finally sealing.
 
The project will take around six weeks to complete, weather depending. 

 

Australia Day nominations now open
 
Council’s Australia Day Award nominations are now open until Friday 12 November.
 
The Australia Day Awards recognise outstanding volunteers and groups within our Shire to celebrate their achievements and contributions to our community.
 
Award categories are:
• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year
• Community Event of the Year
