Master Plan project

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback and attend our in-person sessions for the Maryborough Major Sports and Recreation Reserves Master Plan.

The Plan seeks to provide a way forward for Princes Park, J.H Hedges Memorial Park and Jack Pascoe Reserve, including future planning, development, maintenance, management and community use.

Key points raised from the feedback:

  • Concerns around the location and accessibility of the splash park
  • Upgrades to the turf wicket on Princes Park
  • The maintenance of heritage buildings
  • The need for female changerooms
  • Lighting to be installed to allow for training and night games
  • Consideration for a synthetic athletics track

Consultants from Otium Planning Group will now consider all feedback received and amend the draft plans.

The community and user groups will then be updated on any changes, with the final plan to be considered by Council in August.

PROJECT UPDATE

Aerodrome works

Works to improve operations and aircraft safety at the Maryborough Aerodrome have been completed recently.

The works are in response to the Maryborough Aerodrome Taskforce Report, which was received by Council at the March Council Meeting.

For more information visit www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/aerodrome

Talbot road upgrades

The upgrade to Rowe Street and Prince Alfred Street in Talbot is now complete.

The $670,000 project is fully funded by Council and was delivered by our Operations team.

Carisbrook outdoor exercise equipment

The concrete slab for the new outdoor exercise equipment, and the new drinking fountain, has been laid this week at Market Reserve.

The project is thanks to the Victorian Government’s Healthy Heart of Victoria initiative.

It is hoped the four pieces of equipment will be installed in August and the water fountain will be installed shortly.
