Community Vision feedback

Recently we asked our community to share feedback as part of our Shaping Central Goldfields project. Thank you to the 100 plus residents who took the time to tell us how we could make our community even better.

Congratulations to the five winners of the $150 prize packs.

Some of the main themes of the feedback were:

What do you love about the Central Goldfields?

- Sense of community

- Location

- Space

In 2031 I would like Central Goldfields to be…

- Vibrant and thriving

- More employment opportunities and services

- Inclusive

What are the biggest challenges facing our community in the next 10 years?

- Our ageing community

- Access to health and wellbeing services

- Activating our next generation of volunteers

The feedback received will be used to develop a 10-year Community Vision.

Community members will be invited to review the Draft Community Vision in August/September before being considered by Council for adoption in October.

Join us for a conversation in Carisbrook

Did you know that $6 million will be invested in infrastructure projects in the Carisbrook and district community in the coming 12 months?

Council will host a series of conversations to share information, and answer questions, about local projects including – the Recreation Reserve upgrade, Carisbrook Levee (Stage 4) and Tullaroop Creek.

We’ll also be inviting your feedback on the Carisbrook Community Plan. In 2019, many of you participated in its development, however due to pandemic, the outcomes of the plan weren’t delivered.

This will be a chance for the community to review the plan and further contribute to key priorities for Carisbrook.

Carisbrook Community Conversation One

Please join Tullaroop Ward Councillor Anna De Villiers and Council’s Manager Community Engagement Kylie Long on:

  • Wednesday 21 July from 6.30 to 8.30pm
  • Carisbrook Senior Citizens Centre, Urquhart Street, Carisbrook
  • A light dinner will be provided

Registrations are essential by Friday 16 July for catering and COVIDSafe purposes. Contact Council's Communications Officer Lachlan Steed on 0409 478 074 or visit

We look forward to leading together, one conversation at a time, to create an even better Carisbrook and district community.

Winter Warmer Walks

We’re encouraging residents to get out in the air and connect with their township and community.

Each 90 minute walk will start and finish at the local Neighbourhood Centres and Community Houses.

You’re invited to the Maryborough Community Dinner

Maryborough and district residents are invited to a Community Dinner to discuss future strategic priorities.

We’ll also be inviting your feedback on the 10-year Community Plan for Maryborough and District – which many of you took the time to contribute to in 2019.

You would have talked about things like what you love about Maryborough, the challenges you face and what you would like to see change or happen in the town.

Due to the pandemic, the outcomes of the plans weren’t delivered, and so we are inviting you to this dinner to reconnect you to the project.

We’d also like to discuss why the plan is important, and double check that you are happy with it, and that the priorities in the plan are still relevant post COVID.

Please join Maryborough Ward Councillors and Council’s Manager Community Engagement Kylie Long on:

  • Wednesday 14 July from 6.30 to 8.30pm
  • Maryborough Community Hub, 48 Burns Street, Maryborough

A light dinner will be provided for those who register.

Registrations are essential by Friday 9 July for catering and COVIDSafe purposes. Contact Council’s Communications Officer Lachlan Steed on 0409 478 074 or visit
