Railway Street, Gillies Street intersection upgrade

Our Works team is currently upgrading the Gillies and Railway streets' intersection.

There is a road closure to all motorists except to local traffic from the Gillies and Railway streets' intersection to Fuller Street.

The approximate $150,000 upgrade will include new kerb and channel islands and is estimated to be complete in four weeks.

Changes to Green Waste Service

Due to subscriber expectations of bagged mulch associated with the Green Waste Service, the number of bags will be limited to one per customer per month to ensure fairness in distribution.

This will be reviewed as changes in processing are implemented.

Users of the service are reminded that the service charge is primarily for the collection of kerbside green waste, and the availability of bagged compost is a bonus in return as available.
