 ANIMAL REGISTRATIONS

Are you a dog or cat owner? 

Animal registrations are due by 10 April with renewal notices set to arrive in your mailbox shortly. 

Registering a dog or cat greatly improves the chances of it being returned if it becomes lost. 

For more information, including the form for a new registration, visit www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/registeryourpet or contact Council on 5461 0610 to have one mailed to you. 

  

VACCINATION PROGRAM

Are you due for a vaccination? Council’s Immunisation team are hosting free immunisation sessions for vaccinations on the National Immunisation Program (NIP), and for all ages. Vaccines also available for private purchase for non-NIP vaccines.

  • Dunolly - Dunolly Senior Citizens Hall 21 Bull Street from 10am to 11am on Wednesday 22 March.

     

  • Maryborough – Goldfields Family Centre, 100 Napier Street, Maryborough on Friday 24 March 9 to 11.30am and Friday 31 March 8 to 11am.

WORKS UPDATE  

Carisbrook footpath project complete

120 metres of new footpath has been constructed along Urquhart Street, Carisbrook between McLachlan and McNeil streets.

New drainage has also been installed to help the flow of storm water.

The project was delivered by our Operations team and funded through the 2022-2023 Council Budget.

  

Street tree requests

Street tree requests are now open

Residents across the Shire can now submit a request to have a street tree planted to increase shade coverage and aid with the beautification of our streetscapes.

To submit a request contact Council’s Customer Service team on 5461 0610. Trees are limited to one per house block.

Residents will play a key role in watering the trees as they establish their roots.

 

Works Update

  • The road re-sheeting program continues with Newitts Lane, Bealiba now underway before the crew heads to Sanderson Court, Bealiba and then onto Majorca later in the week. Cemetery Road and Tunstalls Lane in Bealiba are now complete.
  • The Cotswalds Road, Moolort reconstruction project is continuing. The $500,000 project is funded by the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program and is expected to be complete by the end of March.
  • Light bulb replacement in High Street, Maryborough and Phillips Gardens is complete.
  • Footpath patching along Alma Street – next to Phillips Gardens in Maryborough is complete.   
  • Irrigation at Coronation Park in Maryborough has been reinstated.
  • The Community Hub public toilets have been repaired after vandalism last week.

Help shape Talbot’s future 

We’re calling on the Talbot community to come together to share:  

  • What do we want our town to be like?
  • Where do we want it to grow?
  • What are our priorities for the future? 

 

The Talbot Futures Design Lab session will be held on Saturday 25 March at 2pm at Talbot Market Square (next to London House). It is a free event and everyone is welcome. The session will look at different options for how Talbot can grow.  

A light afternoon tea will be provided.
