COUNCIL MEETING

A Council Meeting will be held this Tuesday, 21 December at 6pm. The agenda will be available today, Friday 17 December at: www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/councilmeetings The meeting will be held in-person at the Community Hub, Maryborough and is open to the public. With restrictions eased, members of the public who are fully vaccinated, or have a valid medical exemption can attend. Attendees will need to sign-in and show proof of vaccination or medical exemption and must register online to attend the meeting www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/ councilmeetings The meeting will be livestreamed on our Facebook page and a video will be available at www.centralgoldfields.vic. gov.au/councilmeetings following the meeting. 

COUNCIL NEWS

Changes to facilities and services There will be changes to our facilities and services over the festive period. Our Customer Service Centre will close at 4pm on Thursday 23 December 2021 and will re-open at 9am on Tuesday 4 January, 2022. Our after-hours services will operate as normal. Urgent after-hours issues that relate to Council infrastructure can be reported on 0419 005 577. After hours issues relating to urgent animal control can be reported on 0407 508 448. A full list of facility and service changes will be published in next week’s Council News advertisement and online at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/christmas2021 Planning team update Council’s current Coordinator Statutory Planning Alexandra Jefferies will commence maternity leave on Thursday 23 December 2021. Tim Wild has been appointed as the new Coordinator Statutory Planning. Tim has been working within the Planning Team over the past few weeks to familiarise himself with the role, the team, and the community. LEADING CHANGE

Walking and Cycling Advisory Group Local walking and cycling enthusiasts, key organisations and government departments met for the first time last week as part of Council’s new Walking and Cycling Advisory Group. Chaired by Cr Grace La Vella, the group will provide strategic advice to Council on the implementation of recommendations in the Central Goldfields Walking and Cycling Strategy 2017-2026.

World Heritage Listing

We’re proud to be part of an unprecedented partnership of Central Victorian councils and regional tourism body Victorian Goldfields Tourism Executive seeking World Heritage listing for the Central Victorian Goldfields. Last week, our Central Goldfields Mayor Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor joined regional Mayors in Clunes - along with Co-Patron The Hon Denis Napthine AO to advocate to the Victorian Government for funding to progress the bid. Carisbrook Recreation Reserve upgrade update

The netball and tennis courts at the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve are ready for play, marking the completion of Stage One of the upgrade project. The upgraded facilities include one netball court, one tennis/netball court and one tennis court. The away change rooms were also removed last week to make way for stage three of the upgrade project to begin. The project is jointly funded by the Victorian Government and Council. Road Management Plan – have your say

Every four years Council is required to update its Road Management Plan which sets the parameters by which Council will operate the road network over the four-year term. To help us develop an updated Plan, residents are invited to tell us about their top five issues relating to local roads. You can view Council’s current Road Management Plan 2017, and provide feedback, by visiting www.engage. cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/roadmanagementplan Feedback can also be provided to Council’s Coordinator Strategic Asset Management David Hildebrand on email david.hildebrand@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au Feedback is required by 5pm, Friday 28 January, 2022.
