Historically significant sapling presented to Shire

Central Goldfields Shire was among approximately 10 other Victorian councils to recently receive a sapling from the original Separation Tree, which has a significant history.

The Separation Tree marked the site in Melbourne's Royal Botanic Gardens where citizens gathered to celebrate the news that Victoria was to separate from the colony of New South Wales.

Future discussions will be held to determine where the sapling will be planted.
