A Council meeting will be held on Monday 16 November at 6pm to approve the final financial and performance statements.

The Councillors elect will be official sworn in at a Statutory Council Meeting next Tuesday 17 November at 6pm.

Dunolly Library work underway

Works on a new library facility in Dunolly have commenced.

The former Police station building in Dunolly – located in the Dunolly Courthouse precinct on Market Street – is the site for the new facility.

The project has been made possible thanks to $140,000 in funding from the State Government – Living Libraries Grant.

Gordon Gardens drinking fountain

Dunolly is the first town in the Coliban Water region to have a ‘touch-free’ drinking fountain available for community use.

We have partnered with Coliban Water to deliver this project, which has been installed in Gordon Gardens.

Free Green Waste Disposal

To help prepare for the upcoming fire season we're offering free green waste disposal for residents at the Carisbrook, Talbot and Dunolly transfer stations every weekend from now until Sunday 29 November 2020.

Australia Day Award nominations open

Nominations for the 2021 Central Goldfields Shire Australia Day Awards are now open until Friday 7 December.

Community art exhibition

Central Goldfields Art Gallery is inviting local artists to submit works for the annual Community Arts exhibition.

Green the Street initiative

The ‘Green The Street’ initiative is being rolled out in High Street and Nolan Street in Maryborough – in response to feedback received from the local business community as part of the Jump Start program.

Using existing garden beds, the Nolan Street pedestrian crossing has been planted with new Crepe Myrtle trees and red and white petunias.

Work has also commenced in Alma Street to refresh existing garden beds with climate suitable plants.

Community Connectors

We have joined the Community Activation and Social Isolation (CASI) initiative to help support local residents who are feeling lonely or isolated due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As part of the program community members can be linked to the Central Goldfields Community Connector who can help with connections with local organisations, local networks and opportunities that provide ongoing emotional, practical or social support.

Community grants now open

Applications for our Community Grants Program are now open.

Grants are available to provide assistance to community-based organisations to support programs and services which benefit our Shire.
