Central Goldfields Shire’s Supported Playgroup is hosting a Pop Up Playgroup in the Goldfields Shopping Centre (Coles/Kmart shopping complex) from Tuesday 14 January to Friday 17 January between 11am and 2pm.
Free to attend, the Pop Up Playgroup is aimed at children aged up to five years of age.

School holiday program
Council’s January School holiday Program is now underway with the Maryborough regional Library, Engage! Youth and Central Goldfields Art Gallery hosting a range of activities for children and teenagers these school holidays.
Many activities are free (unless otherwise specified) and cater for all ages.

Art Gallery and Community Hub reopening soon
The Central Goldfields Art Gallery will reopen on Thursday 16 January from 10am where its current exhibition, New Ways of looking, will resume.
Meanwhile, the Community Hub will re-open on Monday 13 January.
Changes to waste management
Due to public holidays during the Christmas and New Year’s period, there are some changes to waste pick ups.
The green waste pick up will be today Friday 10 January and Friday 24 January or the second and fourth Fridays in January.
These changes are for January only. Green waste will be picked up on the first and third Fridays for all other months (unless otherwise specified).
Australia Day commemorative medals and kindergartner books
Central Goldfields Shire Council will present commemorative medals and books to all children born in the Central Goldfields Shire in 2019 and to those beginning four-year-old kinder in the Shire in 2020.
The ceremony will take place at Council’s Australia Day celebrations at Station Domain, Maryborough on Sunday 26 January, 2020.
Breakfast will be served from 8.30am before official proceedings commence at 9.15am.

To register your child for a free book email their name, kindergarten they are attending, your name, and contact phone number to email@example.com.
Registrations for the medallions and books close on Friday 24 January, 2020.
Australia Day celebrations
Residents are invited to join us on Sunday 26 January at our Australia Day free, family event in Station Domain, Maryborough.
A free breakfast and children’s activities will commence at 8.30am and official proceedings will start at 9.15am. The Australia Day awards – including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Award of the Year – will also be announced.
During this year’s citizenship ceremony, 13 residents will become Australian citizens.
Across the Shire, various community groups and organisations will also host Australia Day events at the following locations:
8am Free breakfast at the Talbot RSL Park (across from the Town Hall). BYO plate, knife, fork, mug and chair. For further information contact Greg or Heather on 0427 090 172.
8.30am Held at Station Domain. Free breakfast provided, including a sausage sizzle, pancakes and cereal. All served by local community groups. Official citizenship and Australia Day awards ceremonies will be held. Baby medallions will be presented to all babies born during the previous year. Books will also be presented to all four-year-old children starting kinder. Official proceedings begin at 9:15am.
