ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Proposed Budget 2022/23

The 2022-23 Proposed Budget is now available for the community to review and provide feedback.

It is focused on implementing the key objectives of the 2021-2025 Council Plan as well as our commitment to deliver more than 40 services for the community.

Developing the Annual Budget is one of Council’s most strategic responsibilities, so it’s important we get it right.

To view the Proposed Budget and provide feedback visit:  www.engage.cgoldshire.vic.gov.au/proposedbudget2022

Community members are also encouraged to participate in:

Online information session: Thursday 5 May at 4.00pm on Council's Facebook page. The live session will be recorded and available to watch back for those unable to tune in at this time.

In-person information session: Wednesday 11 May, 6.30 to 8pm at the Maryborough Community Hub (upstairs).

Draft Motorised Mobility Device Strategic Plan

Community feedback is now invited on the Draft Motorised Mobility Device Strategic Plan.

Through this Draft Plan, we seek to better support the scooter community by clearly identifying the needs of people who live in Maryborough who use motorised mobility devices.

Feedback on the Draft Plan is invited until Friday, 13 May. To view the plan and provide feedback:

Carisbrook Community Asset Committee opportunities

Are you interested in representing your community, meeting new people and supporting the running of valued local community facilities?

There will be two opportunities for Carisbrook residents to be involved with two significant community assets over the coming months.

Council will run two expression of interest processes between April and September for membership to two Community Asset Committees:

  • April - May: Tullaroop Leisure Centre
  • July - August: Carisbrook Town Hall

Expression of Interest to join the Tullaroop Leisure Centre Community Asset Committee are currently open and close at 5pm on Friday 6 May, 2022.

Funded through a combination of community fundraising and the Department of Education, the Tullaroop Leisure Centre is in need of new community leaders to assure the future sustainability of the facility.

Assessment surveys underway

Residents might see this e-bike and car in our Shire over the coming weeks.

From early May, for a two-to-three-week period, contactors will be using these vehicles to undertake a condition assessment of our local footpaths and roads.

In July, condition assessments will be undertaken on all bridges and major culverts in the Shire.

The vehicles will assess approximately:

  • 528km of sealed roads
  • 795km of unsealed roads
  • 75km of footpaths
  • 77 bridges and 176 major culverts

The data will be used to determine our future works program and road and asset plans for the next four years.
