The level of community contribution in Carisbrook makes it a very special place.

One of the very exciting developments across the Shire is the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve project and it was really pleasing that Council was able to take a big step forward at the October Ordinary meeting by awarding a tender for $2,384,302.49 for the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve – Main Building Works Package.

This project has been Community led and driven. The Community team leading  this work deserve real congratulations.

Carisbrook Town Hall is a cherished heritage asset needing attention. It is good Council has been able to allocate funding from the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program to enable cortical roof repairs to take place and our thanks to Dr Anne Webster MP for her support for this. The Carisbrook Historical Society continues to actively champion the planned restoration.

The Carisbrook Lions do a fantastic job in the life of the community in so many ways and Carisbrook Community is much richer through that fine work.

The Carisbrook Mercury does a wonderful job keeping the community connected and informed.

There are so many other examples which space within this Column doesn’t allow me to cover.

What makes Carisbrook so very special is the commitment, passion and hard work of volunteer groups to make so many good things happen.

It’s that positivism and ability to see the upside in everything we should all embrace and in Carisbrook these are just a few of many examples you can see it in action.
