Our Library, Youth and Gallery teams are blasting away the winter blues with a blooming program of events for the September school holidays.      

CENTRAL GOLDFIELDS ART GALLERY

Terminus: Jess Johnson and Simon Ward

An astounding virtual reality artwork on tour from the National Gallery of Australia, which is an experience in five parts which transport the viewer into an imaginary landscape of colour and pattern populated by human clones, moving walkways and gateways to new realms. 

Huge fun for kids, grown ups and seniors alike! There are five different tours at a series of stations around the Gallery and they're all completely different. (Best suited for kids over 12 but you can ask for help from staff!)

Hands on learning about skill of perspective, making your drawings look like an actual place you can visit.

• The workshop starts with a Virtual Reality experience in our current exhibition
• Local artist / educator Jennifer Latch then guides you through perspective, vanishing point so you create your own fantasy world to take home

Skate and Scooter Park Fun 

Take advantage of the new facilities at the Adventure Playground in Princes Park, Maryborough.

 

Friday 22 September – Bush Scavenger Hunt, hosted by Landcare

10am – 3pm, pick up at Council Shire Offices, visiting locations in Talbot, Maryborough and Carisbrook

A road trip day with Landcare, exploring the plants and animals of local bushland including learning to identify endangered native species. Participants will get to complete a bingo card of local plants and animals to win a prize. Lunch also provided.
