Spring is here and we have a great program of events and activities on offer for families to enjoy between 16 and 30 September, 2022.

Monday 26 September - Resume Help Session 

10.30am to 2.30pm 

Want some advice for your resume, or not sure where to start? 


We're hosting a free, drop-in Resume Help Session this school holidays for young people looking for assistance. Come along for 5 minutes or 50- we're here to help!

Tuesday 27 September - Friends with Food 

9.30am to 12.30pm 

Maryborough Mill House 

Gardening workshop with Maryborough Community Garden 9.30 – 10.30am followed by a free cooking class lunch making sushi. 

Learn to make your own lunch - from garden to plate!

Today's menu involves making your own yummy sushi selection with fresh produce, as well as a short workshop with the Maryborough Community Garden learning to grow your own fruit and veggies! We can cater for vegetarian and other dietary requirements- just let us know. If you don’t know how to cook, we’ll teach you- or pick up a few extra kitchen tips.

This activity is free for under 18’s. Over 18’s $10.00 per person or $5 if you have a Healthcare Card.

Tuesday 27 September - Federation University and TAFE Campus tour

(**NB new date due to National Day of Mourning Public Holiday) 

8am to 4.30pm 

Interested in going to uni or TAFE but not sure what to expect?

Come along for a free campus tour this school holidays to visit Federation University and TAFE in Ballarat! Explore what study is like after school and learn about:

  • Available courses and study options
  • Accommodation options
  • Scholarships and student assistance
  • Travel options
  • University clubs and other activities
  • And more!

This tour is free and is open to young people aged 16 - 25 in Central Goldfields.

The tour will start with bus pick up at 9am at the Central Goldfields Shire Offices- 22 Nolan St, Maryborough VIC- and will return by 4.30pm.

Thursday 29 September - Bendigo Day Trip & Cane-Ball Experience

9am to 5pm 

Getting out and about over the holidays we will visit Bendigo. Our options are open! For those who book we will be taking a vote on activities to visit. In the afternoon we are headed to the Cane Ball court to try out a fun new sport.

 Transport provided departing and returning from Council's Customer Service Centre, 22 Nolan Street, Maryborough

Best suited to ages 10 plus. 


The Goldfields Family Centre Vacation Care program is open to children from prep to Grade 6. All activities are $70 per day per child.  

Monday 26 September -  Tote bags

Children will be provided with a calico bag in which they can decorate using fabric markers and or tie dye and take home.  

Tuesday 27 September - Playground

We will head to the Station Domain playground for a picnic lunch and play.  

Wednesday 28 September - Snake Safe Victoria (Extra cost day)

Today we are lucky enough to have Glen and his team joining us to give us a hands on wildlife experience. Children will be able to get up close and personal with some of our native wildlife.

Please note this event will incur an additional $15 charge (on top of the $70). Lunch will be provided on this day.  

Thursday 29 September - Minute to Win it

Lets get our game on! Lots of fun mini-games for children to participate in.
