Central Goldfields Shire has again achieved 100 percent immunisation of children at five years of age – which is above the state average according to data from the Australian Department of Health.

The latest figures show that 95.52% of five-year-olds are now fully immunised in Victoria.

Central Goldfields Shire CEO Lucy Roffey said she was thrilled that the Shire has recorded a 100 percent success rate for pre-school aged children.

“Our Maternal and Child Health team provide a first class service which includes immunisation services that are free of charge to all children eligible for Medicare.

“They provide a key role in educating parents that immunising children provides fundamental protection from diseases including measles, whooping cough, meningococcal and meningitis.”

Parents and guardians can keep up to date with when their child’s immunisations are due by checking their child’s green health book and downloading the Victorian Government’s VaxOnTime app or by checking their MyGov account.
