Central Goldfields – Your community 2030 is an exciting opportunity for residents to have their say on the priorities for the Central Goldfields communities, now and into the future.

Central Goldfields Shire Council has been funded by the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund to work with residents to develop 10 year community plans that reflect the uniqueness and priorities of the eight communities and districts of Maryborough, Bealiba, Carisbrook, Dunolly, Talbot, Majorca, Bet Bet and Timor.

The project commences in October 2019 and finishes in April 2020.

Council is resourcing and leading community planning efforts, but the delivery of key actions within each community plan will be the shared responsibility of community members, Council, other government, business and key stakeholder groups and organisations.

I strongly encourage all residents to provide their ideas and feedback.  What is needed to make your community a great place to live – now and into the future?  Have your say and support the development of these important community plans.

Over the next eight months, residents will be able to share their views in a number of ways:

  • attending a drop-in session
  • sharing your ideas at a listening post
  • filling in a post-card
  • joining in on a discussion group
  • completing an online survey; or
  • taking part in a community workshop

Your Community 2030 Listening Posts are the first community conversations, taking place in October.  Listening Posts are a great opportunity for community members to come and chat to the Central Goldfields Shire Administrators and to find out more about Central Goldfield’s – Your Community 2030.
