Council is hosting two workshops tomorrow to help design Maryborough’s next skate park and we are encouraging young people and their parents to come along and offer their ideas.

The two workshops will be held at the Community Hub, 48 Burns Street, Maryborough tomorrow at 4pm to 6pm and 6pm to 8pm.

During the workshops participants will have the opportunity to undertake tactile designing with modelling clay, drawing paper, pens, markers, scissors and glue sticks to design their ideal skate park and consideration will also be given to potential suitable locations for the park.

All skate park users or anyone interested in skateboarding, scooter and BMX riding are encouraged to attend including young people and parents of young people who would like to use the park.

We have engaged Convic to undertake the skate park designs. Convic has 20 years’ experience designing and constructing skate parks all around the world.

It would be great to see a diverse group of participants attending these workshops because it is our vision to create a skate park for all young people within our community.

We want to hear from everyone from young people to their parents and community leaders.

These workshops are open to anyone and everyone within the community.

Those interested in attending can RSVP at mbskatepark.eventbrite.com.au
