By now, most residents will have received their rate notices.

Rates can be confusing and if you have any questions, I encourage you to head to which gives you a great overview on how rates are calculated and what services your rates go toward.

Here, you will also find the Understanding Your Rate Notice brochure which is informative and provides clear information.

Some of the programs and services your rates support include:

  • Kerbside recycling and waste collection
  • Infrastructure maintenance
  • Swimming pools
  • Libraries
  • Tree planting
  • Recreation, sport and leisure facilities
  • Public facilities and community assets such as town halls

If you would like to provide feedback about your rates, the State Government currently has a Rating Review survey open.

I encourage all ratepayers to take this survey which will assist an independent Rating Review Panel.

This panel will lead the Victorian Government Rating System Review to identify changes to the rating system that will improve fairness and equity.

You can complete the Rating Review survey at
