Today is an exciting day for the Carisbrook sporting community!

Representatives from Council and Carisbrook sports clubs are meeting with an architect to discuss future design plans at the local recreation reserve.

The design project is divided into three phases, with each stage expected to take up to eight weeks.

It is proposed the Carisbrook Recreation Reserve will become an epicentre for local sport with the Carisbrook Football Netball Club, Lady Redbacks football club, Carisbrook Bowls Club and Carisbrook Cricket Club all to be based at the reserve.

This is great news for our local sporting clubs as some of their facilities could do with an upgrade.

In other exciting news, this Saturday at 2pm we are launching our Golden Textures Biennial Art Quilt Exhibition at the Central Goldfields Art Gallery.

This is a truly exciting exhibition because it features 18 of the highest standard contemporary art quilters from across Australia.

I have no doubt that this will be one of the most popular exhibitions at our Art Gallery this year and I encourage all community members visit the Gallery and appreciate the amount of skill and dedication that goes into each quilt.

The Art Gallery’s 2019 program is now online and can be viewed at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/exhibitionsandevents
