I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter at home. Perhaps you spent some time camping in the backyard with the kids, gardening or baking or getting some jobs done around the house that you might have been putting off.  Easter is usually a time with friends and family and I know many of you would have really struggled with this change.

It continues to be a challenging a difficult time for everyone as we are all adjust to the ever-changing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you to the Central Goldfields community for continuing to such a wonderful job of staying home, social distancing and supporting our local businesses as much as possible. The Victorian Government announced on the weekend that the State of Emergency and Stage 3 restrictions have been extended until midnight on 11 May so we must continue to stay home so that we can protect our health system and keep saving lives.

To help keep our community informed during this time, the Central Goldfields Community Relief and Recovery Committee have joined with Maryborough District Health Service to develop an information flier. The flier includes health information, mental health information, tips for self-isolation, resources for families and suggested apps and tools for keeping you connected. It also includes a comprehensive list of local community organisations and businesses who are offering support during the pandemic. The resource is being distributed to every resident in the Shire so please keep an eye out in your letterbox over the coming week. You can also find it on our website - along with lots of other resources -  at our dedicated COVID-19 page at www.centralgoldfields.vic.gov.au/covid-19

Take care everyone, we’re all in this together and we will get through this.
